The next retreat will be held April 23 - 27, 2025. There
is no application required to attend the Iceland Writers
Retreat. Registration takes place on a first come, first
served basis.

Please reach out to iwr@icelandwritersretreat.com if you have questions about package or retreat details. If you register for the standard package, you will still have an opportunity to upgrade to the IWR Voyage or IWR Write packages (as well as sign up for the Relax & Write Extension or for a non-participating partner.)
Upon registration, you will receive an informational welcome email that includes an invitation to sign up for workshops and a link to book a hotel room with our IWR conference rate.

Registration does not include:
- Flights to/from Iceland
- Transfers to/from the airport and hotel
- Accommodation (a separate link is provided to book at a special rate. This offer is available until late March.)
- Meals or refreshments not listed in the itinerary
- Alcoholic beverages at provided meals
- Travel insurance

Relax & Write Extension April 27 and April 28, 2025 (check out April 29)
The optional Relax & Write two-day extension gives you free time to take additional tours, walk through town, shop for souvenirs, or write in a local café. The group will gather in the evenings for dinner together. At the second dinner we’ll have an open mic night where you’ll have an opportunity (if you wish) to share some of your work with your fellow participants.
The Relax & Write Extension is ISK 47,000 in 2025.
If you wish to stay for the extension, we will send you a separate link to pay the extra cost.
It is also possible to book two additional nights' accommodation at the same conference rate (limited availability).
Non-Participating Partners
You can sign up a non-participating partner. Non-participating partners can attend all the events (one day tour, receptions, welcome dinner, pub night, etc.) except the writing workshops on those two days. Lunches at the hotel are not included in the non-participating partner fee. If you are also booking accommodation with our IWR conference rate, please remember to sign up for a double room or two single rooms.
The cost for a non-participating partner in 2025 is ISK 110,000.
If you wish to attend with a partner, we will send you a separate link to pay the extra cost.
Conference Venue
Accommodation is a separate cost. Participants are responsible for booking their accommodation and are not required to stay at the conference venue. The venue for 2025 will be the Fosshotel Reykjavík. We've secured a special conference rate, which is 155 euros per night for a standard single room or 178 per night for a double room. Tower rooms are 177 euros for a single and 200 for a double. (All rooms include breakfast.) A code to book accommodation at the preferred rate for 2025 will be sent to participants. There will be a limited numbers of rooms available at this rate.
