Register now to participate in the April 14-18, 2027, retreat!
Writers of all levels are welcome. There is no application required to attend the Iceland Writers Retreat. Registration takes place on a first come, first served basis.

FEE DESCRIPTIONS FOR ICELAND WRITERS RETREAT 2027
There are three workshop time slots (4-6 workshop choices each time slot) on each day of April 15, 16, and 17. Participants with Standard and Voyage packages have one literary day trip and two workshop days but can opt out of their day trip if they prefer to spread their workshops over three days instead of two. Participants with the Write package have three full days of workshops and no day trip.
Registration does not include:
- Flights to/from Iceland
- Transfers to/from the airport and hotel
- Accommodation (a separate link is provided to book at a special rate. This offer is available until late March.)
- Meals or refreshments not listed in the itinerary
- Alcoholic beverages at provided meals
- Travel insurance

Relax & Write Extension (April 18-19)
Presented by Sky Lagoon
Want to stay a little longer? The optional 2-day Relax & Write extension provides the perfect time to experience the oceanside Sky Lagoon near Reykjavík! You'll also have free time to write, commune with new friends, or explore more of the city and countryside. The group will gather for two top-notch dinners, one of which includes an open mic so that you can share your work with fellow participants, and you'll receive a personal video clip of your reading.
The Relax & Write Extension is 60,000 ISK.
(Please note that it is only possible to book the extension for the price of two nights.)
Non-Workshops Partners
You can sign up a non-workshops partner who can attend all of the events (day tour, receptions on offer, welcome dinner, pub night, etc.) except the writing workshops. Lunches at the hotel are not included in the non-participating partner fee. Non-participating partners receive one of our curated IWR welcome bags.
The cost for a non-participating partner is 129,000 ISK.
Conference Venue
Accommodation is a separate cost. Participants are responsible for booking their accommodation and are not required to stay at the conference venue. The venue for 2027 is Fosshotel Reykjavík, which has received numerous awards for hospitality excellence, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. The special rates are 26,400 ISK for a standard single room and 30,400 ISK for a double. Tower view rooms are 30,400 ISK for a single and 34,400 for a double. (All rooms include buffet breakfast.)
Participants receive a special booking code for these conference rates.
Additionally, IWR participants receive a code for a 10% discount off the "Best Available Rate" including breakfast at any of the Íslandshótel group's 17 properties across Iceland.
